Certified Reverse Mortgage Professionals
Today’s marketplace is filled with many home financing companies, private lenders, banks and credit unions. However, not everyone who offers home loans is able to offer Reverse Mortgage options. And not everyone who offers Reverse Mortgages is a Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional or CRMP.
A Certified Reverse Mortgage Professional (CRMP) is someone who holds a specific distinction within the National Reverse Mortgage Lending Association (NRMLA) that signifies their stand-out performance, commitment, ethics and competence within the Reverse Mortgage lending field. CRMPs don’t just make Reverse Mortgage lending their job — they have a genuine belief in their place in the industry, often demonstrated by making a considerable personal investment in time or income to the advancement of their career. As the NRMLA puts it, CRPMs “…believe in themselves, they believe in the customers they serve, and they believe in the product or service they offer.”
Are our lenders CRMPs?
At Alpha Mortgage Reverse Division, we are proud to have team members who hold this distinction. Having such respected and dedicated Reverse Mortgage specialists on our team helps separate us from so many of the “other guys.” While other companies may offer similar Reverse Mortgage products, they may not have the dedication and in-depth knowledge of Reverse Mortgage lending to distinguish them from the crowd, nor might they have the high professional and ethical standards that are synonymous with the CRMP distinction.

More on CRMPs
What qualifications are needed to be a CRMP?
In order to qualify for the CRMP designation, candidates must have a minimum of three years experience in the Reverse Mortgage business, or they must have personally closed at least 50 loans. CRMPs must also complete 12 hours of continuing education courses, complete the NRMLA’s Ethics Course, pass a rigorous exam and pass a background check. Each certification is valid for three years, during which time the designees must complete an additional 8 hours of continuing education per year to become re-certified.
What are the benefits of working with a CRMP?
When you choose to work with a CRMP from Alpha Reverse Mortgage Division, you know you’re teaming up with someone who has gone above and beyond in their field. Plus, you’ll likely feel more comfortable asking questions and feeling confident that your lender will have the answers you need because they are true specialists in this unique and often complex loan process.
